Time flies, 2023 has passed in the blink of an eye. LuoLab's annual year-end summary meeting was successfully held on February 3rd, 2024, where the laboratory members reviewed their work progress in 2023 and looked forward to the following 2024. First of all, Dr. Zhang made a summary from the spatio-temporal dynamic regulation of RNA modification and metagenomic and element mining, and shared her gains and insights.

After that, the graduate students in the laboratory summarized the phased achievements of their respective projects, the problems encountered and the follow-up work arrangements, teachers and other members put forward questions and suggestions according to the reports. During this time, the detailed debriefing and discussion allowed the participants to learn new things, and the members of LuoLab to have a full understanding of each other's projects.

At the end of the meeting, Dr. Luo made a summary of the 2023 year of the laboratory from the three perspectives of scientific research, laboratory management and talent training. Compared with LuoLab 1.5 years ago, the research direction and research technology of the laboratory have been expanded in many aspects, and the system has been more perfect. Since then, the laboratory will continue to usher in new opportunities and challenges, and Dr. Luo also put forward expectations for the future of the laboratory: starting with interest, being good at persistence, and finally realizing the dream.

In 2023, everyone made unremitting efforts for their work, and the laboratory also voted for several awards. The award ceremony was held during the dinner after the conference: The "Best Progress Award": Zhang Zhihao; The "Best Laboratory Contribution Award": Lan Yelin; The "Best Reporter 3": Ren Zehui; The "Best Report Award": Chen Hongxuan; The "Best Popularity Award": Huang Yifeng; The "Most Loving-Help Award": Zhao Yuli; The "Best Newcomer Award": Tang Guorun and Luo Rujia; The "Most Valuable Person of the Year": Xie Yingyuan (first prize), Chen Hongxuan (second prize) and Wu Fu (third prize). Congratulations to them!

What's past is prologue. After harvesting the fruits of 2023, LuoLab will move towards 2024, planting the seeds of hope, working hard and looking forward to the harvest of the New Year!
